BHC Inpatient Pyschiatric Beds Open Enrollment 2025
Betty Hardwick Center, a community MHMR center and a governmental unit of the State of Texas under the provisions of Vernon’s Texas Codes Annotated, Health and Safety Code, Section 534 et seq., is seeking to contract with experienced providers for the purpose of providing Community Psychiatric Hospital Beds to eligible residents, in an effective, cost-efficient, and quality manner in accordance with state requirements and community standards.
Notice is hereby given that Betty Hardwick Center will receive proposals from providers interested in offering Community Psychiatric Hospital Beds.

Request for Proposal (YES Waiver Provider Services 2024)
Betty Hardwick Center (BHC) is the Health and Human Services designated Mental Health Authority established to plan, coordinate, develop policy, develop and allocate resources, supervise, and ensure the provision of community based mental health and developmental disability services for the residents of Taylor, Jones, Callahan, Shackelford and Stephens Counties, Texas.
BHC is seeking proposals for the provision of the following list of services funded through the Youth Empowerment Services Waiver (YES Waiver), for youth ages three (3) to eighteen (18) who would be reasonably expected to qualify for inpatient psychiatric care:
- Respite- In Home, Camp, Licensed/Registered Child Care Home, DFPS Residential Child Care, Licensed Child Care Center,
- Community Living Supports
- Non-Medical Transportation
- Supportive Employment
- Employment Assistance
- Paraprofessional Services
- Specialized Therapies – Animal Assisted Therapy, Music Therapy, Nutritional Counseling
The time and place of the delivery of each service will be determined during the arrangement of each service appointment.
The contract shall be for an initial term of one year with the option to renew annually.
The open enrollment period shall close on February 29, 2024 at 5:00(CST) or upon receipt of enough applications to meet the service capacity described in the RFA whichever comes first.
