Community Support Services Trainer- Rural- Part Time

This position is responsible for providing skills training to consumers in the IDD Community Support Services for General Revenue. Will be responsible for training in rural areas such as Callahan, Stephens, Shackleford and Jones County and will office in a rural location. Position will be responsible for developing and implementation of individual strategies to assist consumers in meeting desired outcomes. Work involves planning, organizing, training, monitoring, and evaluation progress for teaching consumers to live independently. This position requires the ability to: identify problems/need areas work under stressful situations in a professional manner, be through in assessment and documentation, locate and utilize community resources, and to develop positive relationships with consumers. Position will work cooperatively with other departments and the community. Skills in written and oral communication, problem solving and teamwork are essential. Must be flexible with work schedule in order to meet the needs of consumers. This position reports directly to the IDD Programs Administrator.

Must have High School Diploma or equivalency. Experience working with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred. Must possess a current Texas driver’s license and qualify for Center insurance coverage. Must also have basic computer skills.
