HCS Residential Trainer-Float

This position will be responsible for providing care to the consumers who live in the HCS residential homes. This position is responsible for maintaining the residential homes, monitoring for safety hazards, and keeping the home in good repair. Will work in planning activities to encourage consumers to access community services, provide transportation, transportation of consumers may require using your personal vehicle, assist with household chores, medication monitoring, rehabilitation training, incident reports, Behavior Therapy Programs and other duties as recommended by the consumers interdisciplinary team. The person in this position must demonstrate the ability to effectively work with others. This person must provide quality documentation in all paper work. Hours will be 4:00 pm to 12:00 am, Saturday thru Wednesday, 40 hours weekly. Position may float to other homes, areas or shifts as needed. The person in this position will demonstrate the ability to organize a 40-hour a week schedule that is flexible in providing service to the consumers as the need changes. The person in this position is required to follow all regulations of the HCS standards, and works directly under the supervision of the HCS supervisor for Residential Services.

High School diploma or equivalence. Experience working with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred. Must have current Texas driver's license and qualify for Center insurance coverage. Must be 18 years of age. Basic computer skills required. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Must be able to read and write clearly. Must have good communication skills both orally and written. Must be caring, patient, dependable and honest. Must have the ability to cook. Must be a person with ability to work a flexible schedule (willing to work other days, hours and shifts as needed). Experience working with persons with intellectual and developmental disability is preferred. Experience working at State Supported Living Center is preferred.
