Part Time Respite Trainer
IDD Respite is a service offered to provide relief to caregivers of adults and children clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Clients may come and stay for several hours or overnight for several days at the respite facility. Staff in this program assure that participants physical needs are met, plan activities and community outings to make the stay at respite fun and enjoyable, may need to follow behavior support programs, and ensure general health and safety needs are met while clients are staying with us. To be effective in this role, Respite Trainers need to have a heart for persons with IDD, need to be flexible and have basic computer skills, have some skill with household chores such as cooking and cleaning, and a willingness to have fun at work.
High school diploma or equivalency.
Experience working with persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities is preferred.
Must possess a current Texas Driver’s License and is an insurable driver.
Must possess basic computer skills.
Ability to lift 55 pounds per PMAB requirements.
