MVPN Peer Services Coordinator
This position coordinates the Betty Hardwick Center Veterans Program. The program provides services to Service Members, Veterans, and their Families (SMVP) throughout the Center catchment area consisting of Taylor, Jones, Callahan, Shackelford, and Stephens Counties using the Military Veterans Peer Network (MVPN) model. This Program consists of provision and coordination of Peer to Peer group and individual support, SMVP Outreach, Volunteer Recruitment, Training and Coordination of Volunteers, Stakeholder Briefings. This position attends and represents the Center at local veterans meetings and coordinates and interfaces with area stakeholder organizations that serve veterans. Assesses the needs of veterans and makes effective referrals of veterans requiring services and supports. This positions supports peer to peer support groups through regular facilitator enrichment meetings to coordinate group meetings, locations, supplies, and facilitator communications. This position is responsible for all required reports to funding sources and Center management. This position reports to the Chief of Behavioral Health Services or designee. Hours will be 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday - Friday.

Experience as a Service Member, Veteran, or their Family Member. (SMVF); Demonstrated Leadership Skills; Experience as a Volunteer in or manager of a Volunteer-focused program; Demonstrated public speaking /presentation ability; Qualified to train comparable mental health awareness curriculum approved by HHSC; Training in Training/Experience as a Peer to Peer support group leader or willingness to receive training as a Peer to Peer support group leader.
Must have a current Texas driver's license and qualify for Center coverage.
